Republican Attacks Show Fear And Desperation

advertisement

In the past two weeks, we've seen Minnesota Republican Rep. Michelle Bachmann make one of the most audacious statements ever, suggesting that Obama holds anti-American views, that other members of Congress have the same views, and that the media should launch a widespread investigation to ferret them out.

No, seriously, she said that on MSNBC's "Hardball."

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

The McCain campaign has no issues to discuss and has completly lost coherency save for this one very iconic issue, which few (if any) on the right grasp at all: Socialism.  The real strategy has come out in the open, and it's one most of us have recognized since the early 1980's - to split America apart by redefining what America is.  From the article:

McCain's campaign is no longer about issues. He and his supporters want to bring up anything and everything to derail Obama, and nothing is sticking, so they just keep returning to their old bag of tricks.

No issues, just pure fear and negativity, "We'll define the illness for you and then we'll prescribe our own manufactured cure."    Blandly enough,  the cure is god and, surprisingly, more fear.  Emotionally mature and healthy people don't go down that path - hopefully there's enough of this type in our citizenry.
