First off, let me apologize for the shortness of this article. Ordinarily I wouldn't write something this short and call it an article. For some reason, short articles make you look like you don't have your head in the game. Forgive me this transgression...
It's late Memorial Day and I became curious, how many of you out there have answered the call to duty, or have family that have served? This is actually research for an article I plan on writing ( I'm a natural born procrastinator, so don't hold your breath). Speak up people, tell us your story. Did you serve? When and where.. and what branch? Did your family or ancestors serve?
I'll go first. I served 22 yrs. in the Air Force, 72 to 94. My father served twenty, and my younger brother served twenty (combined, Army and Air Force). Before that, two of my Mothers brothers were Spitfire pilots in the Battle of Britain, one survived. Before that, James T. Dent served the South in the Civil War. That's as far back as I've gotten so far...
